Veris are important because they give confidence someone will actually turn up. If I had good reason to believe I wasn’t going to get let down at the last minute then I would meet someone who wasn’t veried - I wouldn’t be spending any money on hotels or too much travel before hand though.

They mean very little to me and veris from the wrong people are more likely to put me off meeting someone than 100 glowing ones.

I haven't used veris on my last 2 profiles here and I've found it doesn't in anyway impact people chatting to me.

Might put off a few people but that's ok.

Plenty technology now to verify someone is who they say they are before a meet

I really don’t like veris. I’m pretty much more than capable to make my own mind about a person, either through chatting or meeting socially. I’d rather not see veris as they can put me right off someone and change my mind about that person in a nanosecond.

I have met unverified people before, and was usually right about my perception of them.

I like receiving verifications as sometimes it’s a true reflection of what the other party made of you. Some people are too shy to say at the time and open up more when verifying.

Although I am not so bothered if other people read them or not.

We've also met people who (go to a lot of group socials and) have racked up the veri's.

Unless there's something really off-putting in a veri or profile, it makes no difference to us.

Content is irrelevant.

Most of the verifications I read border on vulgar cliche and even the good verifications are the opinions of another stranger.

I have great tools available to me e.g. a brain, the ability to make my own decisions, a phone , a computer and a few questions that help .....

I generally only meet people who I have met at social events so they are largely irrelevant.

As above sometimes veri's are likely to put me off depending on who a person has met previously. Mostly I don't bother reading them though.

I've been verified by a woman who said hi to me when we passed in a corridor. One word, hi.

I've been verified by people at the same event who I never spoke to at all.

So yes I would meet someone with no verifications if I got the feeling the were legit.

I guess you have to start somewhere. Varis can be helpful when looking at a profile. If I go on a profile and find that she has a number from gym fit six packs then I bypass that particular one. I don’t have any for the simple reason I have yet to meet someone. Although I am considering clubs ( there are 2 near me) and hopefully get some social ones. I don’t attach much importance to them-other than the type of guy they go for. I like to chat for a while-then face time-hopefully that will tell me what I need to know. This is also why I won’t go miles away from home.
