"Any one sell items on e bay. I buy and sell a lot of video games,i went to send an old playstation one game today, tomb raider 2,usually the price to send one of these type games was £1.20,its now £3.00,they only bid £1.50 for the game and I had asked for the £1.20 postage so it cost me 30p to give them a game for free " You have been over charged. The post office you went to sent it the incorrect way. Your previous items were sent I'm assuming at large letter rate. If the item you posted today was exactly the same size then it would still go as a large letter. You have been charged for a small parcel.

"prices gone up by up to 50% on the 2nd of april. We used to send a small packet for £2.20 and now is £5.20!!!disaster..." Some items have gone up by a small amount other have gone up vastly. That's royal mail for you. Not good for customer and also a nightmare for those working in the post office who have to deal with it.

"I sometimes send hand written letters to a friend rather than email as it seems a bit more personal, but what was once a personal bit of fun has become an unwanted expense in the face of price rises (I know stamps didn't go up this time but they have very recently)." a 1st Class stamp is 60p. Is your friend not worth 60p then?

"They're gearing up for privatisation " Having worked for the RM many years ago I have never witnessed any Royal connection to it that is valid in modern times. As it is being run like a private company so it should have the status of a private company and thus have it's monopoly on standard mail delivery to households removed also.

But the infrequency is a result of the price rise.
