Would you go on one if someone (a friend) set one up for you ? or have you been on one in the past what was the outcome any lasting relationships/marriages ? Or just the person wasn’t for you ?

Was years ago but wife at swingers party arranged this. We met our blind dates before the party and then went on to the party after. It was great fun

Been on one. Was a complete disaster.

She was over 6 foot netball player and I think I came up to her knee cap.

I have done many many years ago and it did last for a wee while .

I’d maybe do it again for fun but I’d rather a stranger lined it up than any of my friends !

I wouldn't allow a friend to do it.

If they did, they would no longer be a friend.

I think it'd be fun but (and this says more about me than anything else) I don't think I have any friends that know me well enough to get my taste in a partner right.

Had one set up by sister. Went to see 13 ghosts at the cinema then drinks.. exchanged numbers as seemed ok.

Two weeks later started getting calls around 4am, unknown number asking me stuff like what I was wearing, and did I like touching myself etc. called police who found out it was him..

I did go in one years ago. I was about 17. (Young I know) but are friend knew that we would get along. And we did, she was American and I’ve just moved over here, we went out bowling had a blast had a snog that was about it it was a fabulous night, have a good memory. She thinks the same.

* she probably tells a different story I know haha.

Yes, I think I would. My friend would have my best interests at heart and not just set me up with anyone who was too far off from my type, personality or outlook.

It would have to be a coffee or a cocktail infused social, as opposed to a full blown meal.

I figure if someone has to be set up on a blind date then there's something wrong with them why they can't meet anyone normally themselves...bit like joining fab

If it was a friend who knew me well. I don't really have many friends who would be so inclined to match-make though.

I would. I mean it's a date....not married at first sight.

You can always leave.

Perhaps via a fire exit or window if necessary........

I went on one kinda blind date. It wasn’t a setup by friends. We arranged it ourselves.

It kinda worked out I think.

Been together for 20+years

Went on one years back. Someone tried to set me up with someone she (kind of) knew. Told each of us the other had noticed us at a party she'd thrown and asked for the others number...

Unfortunately, it was not a success.

I don't think I'd go on another!

Oh heck no.

I've got a list of things, they've got a list of things, so the chances of both lists agreeing with each other on a blind date is utterly remote.

At least with a dating site, there is some compatibility / pre-sifting first of all. Or there's here on FAB if you want to focus on the absolute basics.

I like them and have had a few. My favourite was an older chap in a pub who said he wanted to set me up on a blind date with his son. He did.

I like the first few dates but anything more and I'm not interested. The first blind date is fun though!

My best friend at the time tried....at her wedding!! I was seated next to a guy she had secretly set me up with (unbeknown to me) I don't think I've ever attended a wedding that was more awkward and uncomfortable!! It also left me feeling a bit hurt that my friend thought I'd be interested in a guy like that!!

It affected our friendship after that!

I would have no problem going on a blind date. If I'm not attracted to them I don't have to go on another one and who knows what may happen if it goes well.
