That’s agreed, but perhaps you’ve been a little generalised in your condemnation, and as I asked above can you hand on heart say you haven’t been in a vehicle that has broken a speed limit on a road with regular road users, if so was the driver an irresponsible idiot.

And another thing, many drivers are irresponsible idiots without speeding, driving too close to others, using mobile phones, running out of petrol/charge all cause many accidents.

I never speed even on an open road in Nevada in a Camaro V8, I kept to 55 mph to optimise fuel economy. It was a wonderful experience, I could feel the safety flowing through my veins. It was so comforting I almost fell asleep at the wheel. So I pulled over for a rest, I almost got bitten by a snake so I got in my car again. I didn't know what to do next because I don't drink coffee because caffeine is bad for you. So I curled up in the backseat and cried. But then I became dehydrated. Fortunately, I planned ahead and hit my sos button and emergency medical assistance was flown in - otherwise who knows what may have happened.

Late 80s, early 90s my boss used to let me use his Mercedes (don't remember what model) when he went on holiday. I asked him one day when we were driving to one of our sites what was the most he got out of it. Can't remember what he said but when I told him it could do 140 (mph) he just glanced at me and said nothing. I never used it again. Unsure whether it was because I started using the company vehicle.
