I dont even mind messages and emails as long as they are more than one liners and contain something worthwhile reading. I cant get into txt speak either, it drives me nuts

Love correct English! Original Arthur Conan Doyle/ Holmes texts are wonderful. So, too, Frederick Forsyth’s command of the English language. The Day of the Jackal is my favourite novel.

I hate writing by hand because I have handwriting that would be too messy even for a GP.

I do it because I take copious notes in meetings and on phone calls, but I hate it.

At school they made us write with a fountain pen which isn't great when you're left-handed, and I think that's where my aversion to it comes from.

The art of communication - both verbal and written - is probably the single most important skill a person needs in order to successfully navigate this turbulent world. Pity so many people don’t spend more time honing both skills.

I look forward to both making a solid come back. My only concern will be reading letters if there no power for lights….

Not a bad idea but not sure letter writing would work...

forget the power cuts, the postal service is already poor and could never guarantee they'd get to their intended recipient in good haste

I don't know. It's not a dying art is it? It still exists just with different mediums.

I do love writing letters though. And receiving them. More of those wouldn't go amiss.

The art of conversation is dying on here especially.

I’ve never come across as many people who don’t think asking a question would be important in keeping conversations going

I love to converse but only when I’ve found an equal as otherwise it’s painful…

Has the art of conversation been lost?
