Does anyone have a drink or 2 to calm the nerves before a meet ? J gets more courage when she has a couple of wines

No, I'll have a drink if I feel like it, if I don't I won't. If the other person were teetotal I wouldn't have any alcohol before playing anyway

I certainly do, it eases the nerves and I get more flirtatious after a couple of glasses of wine.

Just enough to be slightly tipsy but always remain in control. X

Yes this is our prospective also. J feels comfortable when she has a few glasses! We still yet to make it a reality but we are very nearly there

Nope, It doesn't take me much to get tipsy and I'd rather not have one.

I've had a couple of socials and had a drink but on the whole if having a meet, I'm sober x

I would not want an alcoholic drink to calm my nerves because it would make me even more nervous incase I acted like a d*unken twat or say something I shouldn't if the alcohol goes to my head too quickly , I can be quite a dick sometimes when had too many. When meeting at a club I might have 1 glass of wine because I'm out out and deserve a treat but then after the 1 I'll move onto apple juice

The few times I’ve had a few drinks with someone at a meet have been some of the best meets I’ve had. Think it broke the ice really well.

Plus a bit of tipsy sex is always good

I can meet without drinking. But I do enjoy sex more so when I am a little tipsy. I don't focus so much on my own insecurities when I've had a drink, which makes for much better sex.

I drink loads of water, several litres, to be well hydrated in case I need to run quickly in an attempt to leave behind someone who isn’t for me during a social meet up.

Yes, that’s what it’s for.

When we first started swinging about 4 years ago, I (Mrs) needed a drink to calm the nerves. I don't do need to do that anymore. It does get easier and you get more confident over time.Vx

We hardly drink when meeting - maybe have one.

Would never go any further with anyone who was drinking a fair bit as we wouldn’t want someone to change or not remember or be sick when they put something in their mouth

I don't drink and never have done but don't have any issue with those who do.

When it comes to sex though I have no interest in spending time with someone who needs a drink for whatever reason as it has the potential to blur lines.

I want that person to be fully cognitive of their actions.

When I was a lot younger, I used to drink a lot of red wine before a meet which seemed to work really well in helping performance but more recently I've pretty much stopped drinking altogether before meets and now I'm taking Viagra, it's not a good idea at all.

no i dont drink at all when it comes to sex with others i will not meet others who do drink that includes those in clubs and private parties ... 100% consented sex and if your drinking then its not 100% ... if you need it for dutch courage then i question if you should swing or not i dont get people who need booze to fuck

ive seen far too many people do thing they wish they had not or even remember whom they did it with ive seen men take advantage of tipsy women ive even see husbands encoraging theirs wive to drink so he can run the show ... its a very slippery slope ...

on a non swinging note a high percentages of r*p* cases are because of booze ...

its only my opinion but the one thing i dont need to enjoy flat out sex with others is booze and the same goes for drugs ...

I never drink on a meet to "calm my nerves". Not do I drink during play, as the sort of play I engage demands a clear head and mind. Safe, Sane and Consensual, always. Nerves, for me personally, are uncontrolled emotions, which are counter to how I think and behave.

No. If I drink, which is relatively rare, it's because the person whose company in also wants to drink.

Saying that I'm meeting some old friends this weekend and I don't think we've ever spent time sober together in nearly 30 years. Unless being hungover and getting a fry-up whilst we wait for the pub to open counts?

Had to catch myself on nerves before going to things but usually I’m okay.

Not sure alcohol would lower inhibitions, it might ease the social side of going to things.

It's not something either of us "need " before sex but can akin to those feelings of nerves and in turn that comes across as shyness... at a social meet (pending on the time of day and who we're meeting and if they choose to do so) we may have a drink, it doesn't do much calm the nerves but does make it easier to chat.

We always offer a drink to visiting guys, with the option of before or after. Without exception, they've all had drink (whiskey) afterwards as a climb-down during a chat.

Drinking before possibly invokes the old adage: "drink enflames the ardor - the more you drink, the 'arder it gets..."

I met someone from fab who showed up staggering after he needed a drink to calm his nerves

He continued to drink on the meet and started smoking.

I asked him why when we already chatted about no alcohol or smoking, he started crying, I did try to work it through then he pounced on me kissing, got offended for whatever reason and left.

From that any smell of alcohol puts me off.
