ENFIELD

I have a question......

....how do Coldplay manage to distribute 100,000 wristbands, getting them all to sync perfectly and I can’t even get my printer to talk to my laptop??

I’ve no idea, but it looked brilliant in the overhead drone footage didn’t it?

Not seen the show, but its fairly old technology now.

usually used in a more controlled venue where you have an assigned seat, which allows the event techs to control it using various methods (Radio sync, RFID, NFC etc) so you can have entire colour washes or in the case of an arena/stadium, you place the control transmitters at set points round the venue which can allow you to produce very controlled waves or specific areas of different colours. Looked to do it for a corporate event once, but the cost was outside of their budget.

They also used a similar system at the 2012 olympics, but that was hard wired to each seat.

Can also be used as a form of entry control to certain areas too (so something like blue- general entry, green- enhanced entry, red- VIP/crew/mgmt)

If you really want to geek out, check out companies like crowdsync

Printers are the cats of the tech world.

They do what they want, when they want. Never when you want them to do something.
