How many of you are into health & fitness via the gym or dedication to (a) particular sport(s), and how much quality does it add to your life?

Phys has always been pretty central to my life - triathlon until a few years ago and even now I do all three disciplines still and spend time in the gym. I'm not as strict with diet as I used to be (hence the squidginess) but I still try to eat healthily more often than I don't.

I go to the gym 5 days a week and used to go as I thought it was a necessary evil. Then I missed a session after work and felt awful so didn't realise how amazing it feels for my mental health as well as my physical health going after work where it feels like a massive release

I am with this. Gym, walking, doing something physical is a great way to maintain a solid mental balance for me.

I’m a regular gym goer, 3-5 times a week and I run ultra marathons! - It adds longevity to my life, this has been scientifically proven! I hope my body looks good for doing it too

We are both powerlifters and would be actively lost without the gym. It helps the mental and physical side in life. Keeps us fit, healthy and STRONG . Don’t know where we’d be without the gym. Love it!

I triathlon over summer, Hyrox over winter. Train roughly 10-12ish hours a week I guess. Not super fit by any means, just pottering about at lower levels doing my own thing and trying to have fun.

I couldn’t eat the amount of cake that I do if I didn’t do all that exercise but it’s intrinsic to who I am nowadays.

I like to push myself and challenge myself and set goals and it feels good to hit them and move onto the next one. It feels good when you didn’t want to do a session and you go anyway.

And taking time to just do some bits like open water swimming or hiking or horse riding just for fun rather than training adds a nice variety and does wonders for mental health too.

Yeah, I like my routine. I'll gym 4 times a week and play football once a week. Would like to find a bit of time to cycle too, but hard to fit that in.

I dive around like a cat and command my 6 yard box most Sundays.

But other than that it’s just the gym for me with the occasional swim thrown in.

Go to the gym 4 times a week .... I swim ,weights / strength training and do yoga almost every day. For me its essential part of my mental health as well as keeping fit

I gym and play wheelchair sports, yes. I like having an outlet - I can push myself, be competitive, beat stuff up, crash into other disabled people and generally work out my frustrations, via sports. I also like having jacked shoulders.

I'm just getting back into it. I worked in Kabul in 2011/12 and spent every day in the gym. I didn't fancy trying to outrun some baddies and getting caught. It was the fittest I'd ever been in my life.

I've just said to myself I can still do that now if I want.

I've dropped 8kg since March and feel (Look!) so much better for it. It's also a good time for personal headspace too.

I'm not into the gym or anything. I swim 3-4 times a week, play tennis twice a week and go to zumba once a week. I don't do any of them that seriously. I'm no good at any of them but I feel so much better knowing I'm doing a little bit to try and be healthier/ fitter.

4-6 times a week in the gym and a lot of running when the stress of work doesn’t put me off.

It’s been great for switching off from life outside and generally makes me feel better.

Great for the bedroom stamina as well

Gyms no I've never got into it. I find it hard to train unless it's for something. I never really had to when I was younger, I just ran played football, squash, hiking, wing chun, surfed. The only gyms I ever went were boxing gyms.

I am feeling the urge, my fitness especially lower body and cardio would benefit from it. I don't think it would give some sense of well-being to be honest, just a little meditation and a hug is all I tend to need for that usually.

I unfortunately don't know much re arthritis and suitable exercise. There might be useful stuff on YouTube...
