To leave voice messages on the private messages..

- would you use the function?

Perhaps there could be a minimum of 4 or 5 back & forths between 2 people before it could appear..that way it could filter out scary weirdos from bombarding folks with a first message.

I guess you could always continue conversing on other platforms to use this function.

But yes, I'd use it..

Voice messages are useful sometimes. Written text the intention or feeling can get ‘lost in translation’. Defo agree about the option only being allowed if you’d messaged back and forth a few times or ppl would just get voice messages of ppl wanking etc.

But I think you get used to it. ( your voice)

(There's a teachable/ instructional aspect to what I do in the real world. So I have record videos of myself talking to the camera lot. )

Yes I would. I don't hate my voice and it's easier for me to vocalise my thoughts than it is to type them sometimes.

I'd only allow one person to send me voicenotes though. So if we could opt in to receive them, that'd be great. Or filter based on accent.

Alternatively, you could be speaking to someone who sounds like Liam Neeson and then see a picture of them and they have the body of Melvyn Hayes, so maybe voice-messages instead of pictures could be the way to go?

I like the idea. Hearing a short voice message helps give an extra dimension to seeing if you like the sound of others nature/personally. You get more insight with voice and tone. I like the idea that what you propose avoids unsolicited voice mails. Just a natural personal escalation of a flowing conversation still behind the safety and anonymity of Fab.

However I like only paying a £5 for our subscription. So would such a facility be affordable to achieve on current funding?

I would be nervous of using it myself, but a person's voice is a surprisingly important part of my fancying someone. If their voice sets my teeth on edge then it's not going to go well. If on the other hand they have a voice made of velvet then it will make me more interested.
