Did anyone just catch this guy on BBC Breakfast. He was a guest talking about funding for individual cancer drugs that may be under threat.

Diagnosed with stomach cancer 18 months ago, his contribution to the programme was nothing short of an inspiration. Really restores faith in the human spirit. I do not mean this in a patronising way, just was blown away at his understated but undeniably courageous approach.

I felt quite humbled.

Yup, an absolute corker of a man

I almost blubbed when he dropped the joking and admitted to being terrified.

As you say, inspirational !

I did not see the program but can imagine what his attitude was like.

When I was 22 I had leukemia (cancer of the blood) and i pulled through pretty quickly, the doctors where astounded by my up beat get me better I do not care attitude towards it, instead of lying down and saying I have leukemia and abiding by every rule they set I got up dusted my self off and the night I got told I had it went like this

7.30pm I get told off MY doctor

bawled my eys out till 10.30pm and then something kicked in,I cannot explain it but I turned to my dad who was sitting opposite and said

"you know what dad, fuck this leukemia it aint killing me without a fight"

with that i got up went to bed and woke up at 8am ready to go to hospital and start what ever it was they wanted to do to me.

A lot of illness's I believe is all in the head, a positive attitude gets you along way, ok it does not work out all the time if what you have is terminal, but the amount of people that get told they have something serious and lay down and take it is amazing.

heard him on 5live, pretty remarkable guy..

very similar outlook to a 31 yr old GP on there the other day with a terminal cancer also..

inspirational and humbling also..

dont know tbh, i missed the start of the interview..

she is doing a blog about her death..

dont think so, she said it was incurable and usually only occurs in children..

just looked on the 5live site and there is a link to the programme..

it was Stephen Nolan sitting in for Vic Derbyshire..
