The one that got away

How did you get over the ‘one who got away’? The love (or at least lust) of your life?

Does that severed connection sustain suffering every time you think of them/ what might have been?

Any tips for the lovesick/delusional?

Sleaford

Lass that I met on here. My partner at the time wasn't very sexually active and I had her permission to swing as long as no drama came home.

Met a couple and formed a good friendship with them both but he went off the rails and they ended up splitting.

Around this time things were getting better with my partner and we gave it a proper go again.

Six months later the swinging lass had found a new bloke and is happily married (and no longer swinging).

Me and my partner split not long after and yeah I always wonder if I should have taken the chance.

Still working on it but mostly that she wasn't who I thought she was. I'd built something up in my mind which didn't exist.

Fuck the pain away.

This is not medical advice

It's a good song. Turn it up loud.

Time is the only thing that heals heartbreak. Grieve. Give it it's due and when your done you'll know.

Thanks all for your input and insight, it’s oddly reassuring to hear others have also experienced such heartache. Hope we all heal and recover soon x

Somewhere

Took me longer than I'd have imagined with someone, but eventually it just went away. I think it was the loss of the friendship side I was grieving for the most though

Central

I made the decision that it was over and I was getting them out of my life and mind, come what may. It was very tough but I soldiered on, feeling the sorrow, the losses etc And I gave myself the energy and drive to challenge myself, with new life goals and achievements. Tough graft and a lot of fun, plus the satisfaction of achievements. I turned to helping others

I don't care enough about anyone that I meet on here to have that sort of feeling for

There are people I would like to meet again who just disappear, but I certainly don't lie in bed at night thinking 'what could have been'

I’ve never really had that. All my relationships have ended for very good reasons and although a bit of a bummer at the time, you do move on.

You live you learn, you love you learn. All part of life’s schooling.

More than one that got away. All of them have I guess as I'm painfully single. I just try to feel grateful for the time I had with them and to have be fortunate enough to have loved and been loved. Better that then never to have experienced it at all. Time is a healer.
