somewhere

1999 I got married, didn't really see any films and never watched human traffic, it's its 25th anniversary this year (I cannot believe I got married for the first time 25 years ago!) so thought "it's about time"....I could have left it another 25 years and still be none the wiser.

Maybe it's because I didn't do any of that growing up so couldn't really get into it, possibly.

Anyone else got films they wished they never bothered with?...eyes wide shut for me is another, Donnie darko is another (even watched it straight after with the commentary and the director couldn't even explain what it was about!)

Somewhere In The Ether…

The Last Jedi.

I would have walked out but someone had been kind enough to pay for my ticket so I sat in polite misery for the interminable duration.

Also, Transformers; what a pile of absolute crap that was.

I made the biggest mistake in watching Nick Cage in the remake of the Wicker Man. I love the original film and knew that film couldn’t be bettered I don’t even know why I went.

Yes at the cinema so I couldn’t even turn the channel over.

They’ll be other films but that’s definitely the worst.

Transsexual Transylvania

I'm going to break one of my own taboos by even mentioning these, but...

The Hobbit trilogy. What a merchandise-centred, fanboy abortion of an adaptation. Quadruply disappointing after the very passable effort that was The Lord of the Rings.

The Hobbit should have been a single film that didn't try to include prequel stuff scraped from the histories. Absolutely abysmal. I'll stop before I rant more and hyperventilate.

What a mess those films are. My friends who aren’t big LOTR fans say the Hobbit films are the better trilogy and it kills me. I bite everytime. There was far too much CGI as well it felt cartoony.

Amen!

It’s an overlong, overblown and overhyped bag of pretentious shite of the highest order.

Original? Not even that! The exact same basic plot was done previously (and far better in my opinion!) in 1984’s, Dreamscape starring Dennis Quade.

"300, one of the worst films ever.

It is however the most homoerotic film ever made so I suppose, if you view it as gay porn, it has merit.

300 broke my pause button. Damn that movie. "

I agree and it was a fun story. That was before I realised how weird Gerard Butler’s mouth was.

"Don't Look Up. Funny, and it wasn't meant to be funny "

Slightly odd. Not sure nic roeg had made a truly good movie. Although I have fond memories of watching Jenny Aguter in Walkabout as a child. I had neglectful parents who allowed to go to the cinema from 9am until 11am. I watched the same double movie programme over and over. I think I saw this three times one day.

"Crow 2 city of angels"

Yeah, bad. Loved the first movie. Always thought that Tim Burton’s Batman should have been like this.

"Melancholia....

aptly named and extensively slow-paced doom and gloom fest to be got through.

(A nice-looking horse with a cameo role was some salvation). x"

I haven’t seen it but it is on my list.

Somewhere In The Ether…

The Crow: City Of Angels has been mentioned;

I actually didn’t mind this one too much and thought Vincent Perez played the tortured soul adequately enough even if it admittedly wasn’t a patch on Brandon Lee’s original.

However, The Crow: Wicked Prayer starring Edward Furlong…..now THAT is fucking abysmal.

Insultingly so in fact

"Brazil. No Idea what was going totally waste of of money!

One of my favourite films "

Brazil is a Marmite film (I also loved it)

The last Matrix film. What a total waste of everyone's time.

"The Banshees of Inisherin"

I found that a little disappointing too..

Considering the director did "in bruges", which is so good...

Its essentially a love story- for his family and the girl...the rest is just artistic guff really
