Which is harder?

Personally for me (Mr)

I find extreme heat intolerable.

But generally speaking we are far more prepared for cold than heat in terms of attire and the respect we give it.

We really don't respect the heat in this country.

So given the option

50c or -20

The heat, I dislike the heat at least in the cold there's the option of more clothes, cuddle up in a warm blanket etc it can be quite cosy but the heat just no it's uncomfortable and sweaty and horrid.

Dubai & Nottingham

Much easier get wrapped up and enjoy the outdoors in the cold, wildcamped at -16 before but once it’s above about 40°, which is most of the year in many paces it’s near impossible to go out

I love cold. I've always been like this. Even in the depths of winter I sleep with my Fan on its lowest setting. If I'm too cold I know that I can wrap up warm. It's not quite the same with the heat/hot weather; there are only so many layers that one can remove and still feel unbearably hot.

I can tolerate extreme heat far better than extreme cold.

The cold, in this country, feels like it’s chilling to the bones. That internal, deep freeze type feeling is something I can’t get on with.

In the heat, I can cool down. I can enjoy being kissed by the sun. I can get tan lines. It’s not misery.

I think the problem with the cold in this country is that it is a wet cold which chills you quickly. If you have a dry cold then it is much more bearable even at much lower temperatures.

I prefer autumn time tbh, I don't mind heat abroad of the same value but it hits differently, here it's just nasty. You feel like you can't breath, feel tired, can't sleep, irritable, don't want to go out as much even though you think you should be out as it's nice out. It's not for me.

I prefer the cold personally.

My rationale for this miserable sounding preference: One can always adopt extra layers against the cold but one can’t remove one’s skin in the heat.

i did a winter in China, in a part of the country that was -10 and below nearly all the time and no such thing as central heating - wore so many clothes and it was hateful being so cold and not being able to get warm everyday.

I would rather be hot than cold... my hands stop working properly when they get cold.

Though 30+ in the UK is unpleasant because of the humidity. Abroad even over 40 I'm fine.
