Missing Child

Chelmsford

A young Child was on a nursery school trip to the Scottish Deer Centre near Dunmore when he was left behind by teachers. The nutsery is only a few miles from Stirling which was once home to Scottish Resistance fighters like Bonnie Prince Charlie and William Wallace although Charlie was born in Rome and Wallace in Australia.

The little boy called Carson was in a group of only 9 children controlled by 3 teachers when he was abandoned.Teachers told children to use the toilet before leaving and when Carson left the toilet they had all gone. Tom is no expert but each teacher had only to look after three kids. What is going on here. It's all over the news.

"It was actually a nursery trip… but why let facts get in the way "

I am not an expert on the English language as spoken by people from Chelmsford (which is famous as the birthplace of radio factories) but isn’t that what Tom’s first sentence says?

The post starts with "a young lad was on a nursery school trip"

Maybe reading would help with your facts.

For clarity it was a nursery school trip as stated above. That is, a trip from a nursery school. ...

Do you think that there's a link with the resistance fighters?

I just read this news story.

I'm horrified that it could happen.

Apparently they asked eight 4 year olds if everyone was on the bus and then took their word for it. .

One adult per three children! Wouldn't you think the adult in charge of Carson would have been more aware?

Incredible

Surely dosent matter what age the child was the fact that any child is left behind on a trip is bad especially if there were 3 staff and 9 children there no excuse for it

I'd like to hear the nursery's side of the story but on the face of it there is no excuse at all. It's not even as if counting to nine is difficult and did nobody call a register?

I'm not an expert, like yourself, but I can see the word nursery in the opening post twice.

I'm sure that they are desperately thinking of one as we type.

Human factors - I'm assuming that all ended as well as it could given what happened ie the kids back home now

Bucky is a famous Scottish wee dram, brewed by monks to keep the masses confused and violent. It’s known colloquially as “wreck the hoose juice”.

Ps, I hope the little fella is safe and well.

Excatly but nothing surprises me with teaching staff a local special needs college managed to leave a 6ft tall student on the beach alone

According to the article I read he was outside the toilets crying when a man approached him and took him to the office. Staff there then called the nursery to tell them. On the face of it they were *still* unaware that they didn't have him.

If the story is all true the level of incompetence and neglect is nothing short of staggering

Because they’re not famous for their aggressive nature normally

I saw a documentary that referenced a Viking ‘best places to visit’ document that mentioned Scotland which said … Scotland… beautiful but don’t go as you’ll definitely end up in a fight!!’

Along with their teaching If individually they cannot add up to 3 and culminatively 9, then what hope have we got

I find it incredible that 3 adults have lost a child and there was only 9 children. As others have already stated each adult only has to look after 3 children. How difficult can that be.

Please stop using the title 'teacher' for every fucker or helper that is out with a school or NURSERY party...

Do you really think a school or NURSERY would have THREE teachers out on a day visit with nine children ?

Classroom assitants, students and parent helpers ...... there are a lot more of those in school than there are teachers.

Why not say .... the adults in charge fucked up

If the adults in question were employed by the nursery school then some disciplinary procedure needs to be followed, and if they were parent/carer volunteers then the school needs to review its selection process.

Glad the child was reunited with their family.

As a small child of 5 or so I experienced a not dissimilar experience.
