Do you like milkshakes?

Mint is my fave, thick enough that you have to suck your jaws in to get it through the straw....

What's your favourite? Do you like it watery or thick?

I keep metal straws in the glove box now because those poxy paper ones are pure misery

I do like a friji every now and again, the brownie one was delicious. When it works, a strawberry milkshake from McDonald's is nice. Rubik had one of those ones you stick in a machine the other day (cost a lot too) and said it wasn't that great.

Strawberry is my fave

To spice it up, I put a splash of cognac, vodka or rum in it.

Gives it a kick while still being refreshing

When I take my son home after a weekend at mine, it’s become a thing for us to get a milkshake on the way home - McDonalds has turned out to be one to beat up to now.

But for pure orgasmic indulgence then a five guys milkshake hits the spot completely

Sagittarius A

Oh love them thick the watery ones just don't feel right at all. Hence suction and metal straws are vital. Paper just doesn't cut it for a milkshake, which tends to put me off.

Favourites hmmm.

I had Reece's one from Steak and Shake in Atlanta that was phenomenal. So peanut butter and chocolate.

A lime one (weird right?) at a place that used to be in the Trafford centre that was really good.

The salted caramel from five guys is pretty good, but standards seem to be dropping at five guys lately or maybe it varies across restaurants.

Then round here up in Lancashire there's quite a lot of dairy farms and little independent ice cream parlours so finding them is a good route to that purrrfect milkshake.

I'm another person who's found of a bastardised affogato - McDonald's strawberry or vanilla milkshake, shot of espresso.

I really love dark berry milkshakes - cherry, blackcurrant, that sort of thing.

My favourite ice cream place (Snugburys) do this really delicious, thick raspberry one with this incredible coulis and freeze dried raspberries in the summer months.

I really want a milkshake now. Thanks Op.

"If I’m having a milkshake it has to be the bomb. One with everything in it and almost looks like an ice cream sundae. Vanilla. Strawberry. Chocolate sauce. And eat the top with a spoon as it’s got about 4 bars of chocolates and 15 cookies broke over it.

The kids ask for me to make theirs at work, this is my thing Woody "

"A banana milkshake from McDonalds is my go to.

But my friend recently got a peanut butter and bacon shake from Five Guys which to me sounded rank but it was soooo good.

I have major doubts about this "

Understandably! I did too but honestly don’t knock it ‘til you try it. I think Five Guys could put anything in a shake and it’d taste nice.

"I'm another person who's found of a bastardised affogato - McDonald's strawberry or vanilla milkshake, shot of espresso.

I really love dark berry milkshakes - cherry, blackcurrant, that sort of thing.

My favourite ice cream place (Snugburys) do this really delicious, thick raspberry one with this incredible coulis and freeze dried raspberries in the summer months.

I really want a milkshake now. Thanks Op.

I really love a sharp berry smoothie but I've never thought of trying it in milkshakes....

Also you're welcome Meli, I'm here to remind you of the sugary joy that awaits you in snugsburys (this name is adorable too)"

It works so well, the sharpness cuts through the creamy thickness of the milkshake beautifully. At home I tend to buy the frozen winter berry packs you get, full fat milk, really good vanilla milkshake and sometimes a bit (a very small bit) of Greek yogurt with a little squeeze of honey.

"I hate paper straws. But I'm not a fan of metal and glass scares me. Plastic all the way!

Did you hear that flipper? NSP want to kill you with a straw

Next the crabs will be snipping it up to snort coral off the reef and she doesn’t care!!

Behave you

She's crafty I'm sure she can upcycle them somehow "

.

See.... the thing with plastic straws is... they can also be reused! Take them home, give them a wash - good as new! As long as you're not one of those buggers who likes to chew them...

.

.

Back in the 80s, you could buy all manner of Crusha syrups to add to homemade milkshakes. My Dad used to have a few.

.

I only like the vanilla ones from McDonald's, well, I did. I've seen them backwards, so now they make me want to hurl.

.

Sainsburys used to do the best chocolate milkshake, in a small cup with a foil lid. It was really thick, so once you'd shaken it (as instructed on the packaging), it was thick and bubbly and divine!

These days, they're too sugary for me. But I have my memories...

I also second Five Guys milkshakes. Get them to add bacon, too, if you like the whole sweet and salty combo.

"Oh love them thick the watery ones just don't feel right at all.

Have you ever had a Ferrero Rocher one "

I haven't actually, I've had a kinder bueno milkshake. I can definitely see that working. I may have to give that a go, where's my blender.
