Are you not up for changing hrt product? I changed from patches to gel & tablets & it’s doing it’s job so far!

Before I went on hrt, I think I tried everything Holland & Barrett had to offer, they didn’t work at all, I only went on hrt cause my rage outbursts were starting to scare me

How long was it before you noticed a difference with the gel? I changed a month ago and less emotional but my hot flushes are still horrific

Bookmarking. I was advised against HRT as there has been Cancer in my immediate family.

Was just given medication for my anxiety which has helped loads.

Anything else that can improve hot flushes etc I’m all ears!

I just keep getting brushed off at my GPs… not taken seriously 🥺😩

So no idea re HRT. I am struggling so much with the weight gain and the anxiety… no hot flushes or rage but wouldn’t be surprised if they were on their way! 😂😂😂

My wife’s hot flushes lasted about 3 months and her mood swings but the gel and the tablets helped out with them her sex drive has dropped but don’t know if that’s anything to do with the medication but it’s lovely to see her managing with the medication

Same here can't use HRT because of cancer, but these hot flushes are driving me insane!

I’m currently at my wits end.

Apparently can’t have HRT as I still have regular periods but will be storming GP office until I have any relief.

I do take currently:

Omega 3

Vitamin D

Magnesium complex

Rescue Remedy

Health&Her Menopause (currently green label but I think blue was better)

Spatone for iron.

What I don’t currently take, as I ran out a few weeks ago, is evening primrose oil and I’ve noticed I feel significantly worse, especially the hot flushes are out of control!

I’m convinced oil was helping with that so I ordered it again and hope to see the difference.

I'd had sepsis and a condition called portal vein thrombosis, so my gp had to contact my haemotologist and ask if it was safe for me to take HRT. Sadly not! A very low dose of Estrogel, which did absolutely nothing! Thankfully I already had a Mirena coil in, which did help a little. But the only advice I was given by the gp, was diet, exercise and links to a couple of websites! Bloody useless!

Sorry I haven't been able to provide any useful tips, but sending hugs to all you beautiful ladies. Stay strong, try to keep smiling

I'm not oversharing in here but saying you can't have HRT in perimenopause is total bollocks and outdated

I'd challenge your doctor personally

I follow "the hormone doctor" on TT.

Might be worth a nosey, I found what he says actually make sense.

He recommends supplements to take along side hrt as well.

hrt can be taken in peri.

Progesterone tablet is taken for a part of the month ( or another way eg coil) and oestrogen every day.

I did challenge them both, as I am also under gyno team for endometriosis. I don’t like being patronised and it felt like it was what they were doing. I have an appointment coming in August so I’m gearing myself up for the “conversation”.

I didn’t know you could be advised against HRT because of cancer in family… both my parents died of cancer.

I was told that Menomood from Holland&Barret is good for the mood swings but for me personally- it has St John’s Wort and I don’t get on with that herb. It also interferes with some medication so I wouldn’t take it without checking with a doctor first.

Hey ladies! I think the balance app may be helpful for some of you, it's developed by DR Louise Newson. You can track symptoms that can be printed off so you can go armed with proof of your symptoms to the GP.

Oh you absolutely can have HRT when you're still having periods, I've been prescribed gel and tablets by my consultant and I'm 38.

Those of you on full-on menopause (no periods) - have you found that the HRT is making you bleed irregularly again?

It’s the only bit about menopause I am enjoying, the lack of periods!

I still have periods and have been on HRT for almost a year now. I’m perimenopause.

HRT has sorted insomnia, irritability, brain fogginess, forgetfulness, weight gain, anxiety, hot flushes, and vaginal dryness for me.

Don’t give up trying to get on HRT.
