Dont read in screamish Not sure if its just me. But has anyone had trouble with there doctor. Ive been ill last august. So got to september and i was getting worst and now got a abscess in a unpleasant area and had to have operation. After googling my symptoms all symptoms and still being really ill showed crohns disease went back to doctors in october and said its not that. So went back in december but my doctor was off so seen a different doctor and he was so helpful and thought my concerns were right so decided to start investigate for me so after 4 different tests I've been diagnosed with crohns today. Im just so surpised on how 2 doctors in same surgery treat people.

My doctor never diagnosed my husband when he had a rare illness ,after he died from it the gp said oh yes I've got 4 patients on my books with that!!!!.gps do have it tough understandable but simple blood tests can rule out all sorts,,,, glad you got it sorted and can now be on the road to recovery

this is why I always seek a second opinion, especially if my gut feeling is telling me that the Dr isn't right.

My GP always sends me for further tests if they are not sure what it might be.

I was never really happy with my doctor in my old surgery, they were always running late by an hour or more, never seemed to pay attention to what you had to say, often felt like I was being fobbed off. It was a big practice and always very very busy. When my son was born I registered him in the tiny surgery round the corner and so I changed too. There is only one doctor and she is attentive, sympathetic and understanding. Really feels like she is actually concerned instead of just feeling like cattle at the old place.

Don't think it was necessarily the docs fault at the old surgery just they were seriously busy and obviously had more patients than they could cope with x

Always seek another opinion if you aren't happy. Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. My mum has colitis so I sympathise xx

I'd not slept at all for several days and was completely knackered going to work. Went to GP to plead for some sleeping tablets and he refused and told be to go for a brisk walk before bed! WTF!!!

Doctors have it tough and they are overworked etc but they are well paid. I was at hospital yesterday and staff were great there, my doctor? Haven't been to him in years thankfully. All I can remember is last time I was there he was no help at all. Not 1 little bit

They are really funny about giving sleeping tablets! I get bouts of insomnia. Not linked to anything just totally random. Went to the docs to ask for help as it was affecting my ability to look after my boy being so exhausted all the time. Got recommended antidepressants! Lol. X

What is the difference between God and a doctor.

God does not think he is a doctor.

Knowing all the docs I do through my job I generally prefer to ask a nurse. They will always insist on tests to rule it out. doctors can be very lazy but you know your body better than them I would always seek a second opinion if in doubt lazy doctors is a problem and sometimes it's just down to not running the tests because the assume they know what's wrong with you without knowing all the facts

I have had contact with my new GP practice 4 times, twice I've ended up in tears. My chronic condition to them is a cost, to me its my life.

Long gone are the days where doctors worry about the patient before worrying about how much something costs.

Thankfully they are not all like that. The changes are likely to make even more of them count pennies rather than support their patients.

I've been with the same practice for 28 years and they still take the time to call you back if you leave a message and seek the best in patient care.

I tripped over 18 months ago was in agony went to the GP who said you have bruised your shoulder just rest it. Two weeks later was still in big pain saw a different GP who immediately said you have a broken shoulder, spent two weeks in agony for two weeks.

My mom was ill for ages..had no energy put on loads of weight so went to doctors! He told her don't eat so much lol he said you don't get fat by breathing air!!!

4 weeks later she collapsed rushed into hospital her thyroid had completely shut down!..a simple test cud have sorted it x
