Its a very flawed test. I had to account for my husbands wage which is over twice what mine is so that bumped up our income, however i earn just above minimum wage but i dont get any money from my husband, we both pay the same ammount into a joint account to pay the bills and we take it turns to pay when we go out so its odd to use his wage to say what class i am !

I dont socilise with any of the people on the list so i left that blank but at the end of the test it says that i socialise with people similar to myself .... where did they get that from as it never asked me my job and i didnt answer the question about who i socialise with !

The only savings i have is whats left from my divorce house settlement but its not much and my husband who earns far more has debits from his ex !

They have got the guess at my job completly wrong, probably because they took my hubbys wage into account along with my tiny savings.

It also says i engoy emerging culture such as going to the gym (i didnt tick that) and social media (yes i am on Facebook).

I would like to take the test just as me not with hubbys wage in it

I would say that i am working class. I earn just above minimum wage, only have small savings due to divorce house settlement but i use that help me cope with the bills so its nearly gone now.

I dont get any money from anyone or anywhere

I have now done it as myself with just my wage etc and i am now ..... wait for it ...... a new affluent worker ...... how come ??

Its says im young ....im 52 !! A long time since i have been called young lol.

However i do come from a working class background but although my parents are working class they did actually retire very early and not due to ill health, they have a very comfortable income despite them being working class.

I register as traditional working class, then I input the same answers except for income after taxes and savings (both changed radically when I had to retire from work due to ill health) and then I register as established middle class ......does it make any difference to my life as to which social strata I register as...not one teeny bit...I'm still just me - same likes/dislikes, mix with the same wide group of people and don't view myself as better or worse than anyone else (well apart from bigots etc)
