how do you feel at 40,50,60,70?

The one thing that scares me is growing old. Do people feel 20 in there 50s 60s + ?

Must admit i feel younger than 32 just hope i feel the same when 40,50,60!

speaking for myself and for what my parents (86 and 79) have told me you never feel different on the inside you just look different on the outside.

Sadly people do treat you differently as you grow older but that's another thread altogether.

I'm gonna be the first to trot out a well-worn cliche:

It really is just a number.

My dad at 80 is forever looking forward. Mother in law at 63 has been an old woman for years.

Just be yerself.

I'm 36 this month, and honestly feel younger now than I did in my mid 20s... If only I could persuade some of my less perfect bits to revert back to said age, I'd be over the feckin moon

In my thirties and feel I am that, shudder to think hitting 40 and wanting to feel younger let alone the upward scale going back!

My best friend is going to be 50 too ten days before me and I love her to bits (nonsexual) but she acts so old sometimes. she has been quite unwell this year so that hasnt helped but when she is healthy is acting her age. bless her using the cliche as has been mentioned - age is just a number and as old as you feel

I am in my 40s but no way do I feel that I am! I still feel like I am in my 20s, keep fit and active, still like to have a laugh and joke! Your as young/old as you feel

IMO I don't think we age mentally after our early twenties as I still feel like I did then but now I just have more responsibilities than i did back then such as a child and a mortgage. I think for me hitting 40 was a breakthrough as life really did begin then. I'm more confident now and am independant with a career and find myself doing things i'd never have dreamt of when I was younger because I now have that confidence to not give a shit what other people think and do what makes me happy!! I def think age is just a number and we make ourselves old or young by out attitude to life!!

On thurs i will be 61. I have had happy meets with ladies in their forties. I dont feel 61. Most people say i dont look and seem it. Age is largely a state of mind.

When I turned 50, I thought, that's it, it's all downhill from here!!

In reality, I've never had so much fun and from this site's perspective, I've had more meets with like minded people than I had in the years up to my 50th birthday.

I'll be 58 in two months, and in some ways, I'm beginning to feel my age, especially at work! Yes, I've had all the physical checks and my GP can't find anything wrong with me; he just puts it down to me getting older, and I now have to remember that what I did 2, 4, or more years ago within work, just isn't within my capabilities any more!!

I am having to adjust!

im 55yo still feel like a teenager in mind and body but sadly to old for most on fab and wont get a chance to prove people wrong !!! joined a new site were age doesnt seem to matter !!! so not to upset just pop back here for the forums !!!!!!!

Age is only tomorrow ... Your past is what makes you the person you are .. So live for today ... Glad I no teenager going through all that spots and sulking ... But grown up I never will be .. Dont see why I should act a certain way because a number dictates it ... Enjoy whatever comes along ya can't go back so why think about it ... Be glad to be alive .... We at least all have that in common (mind you seeing some peeps I think some have been dug back up lol) ...

when i was in my 40s i started to feel old and aged quite a bit in a couple of years because i had health problems and a lot of worries, otherwise i probably wouldnt of felt any different.

i still have health problems but have been a bitter better in the past year, have lost a couple of stone as well, havnt got many grey hairs either.
