Just seeing what’s peoples options are on messaging

Is it best to be straight to the point with what you want or try to start a conversation and build up. I’ve had a little bit of luck both ways but sometimes just fizzles out

There's no one size fits all.

Some people respond better to an upfront message but others would be completely turned off by it.

I don't send messages so it's not something I think about in that regard but if I get an upfront message they obviously haven't read my profile so it will always be a thanks but no thanks.

There is no one single correct answer. But if someone has a long profile, they have that for a reason, so showing that you’ve read it will go a long way to getting a reply.

You could send a simple “hi, I like your profile, if you’re interested I’d love to chat” and some people might think it’s too generic.

You could send a long detailed message and it not even get read. It’s all a lottery I guess
