Have you signed up though? I did this as an official for my exs partners mum. But you need to sign up beforehand. Legit in any death situation you really do need to sign up beforehand! | |||

Living family top of the list " You can get a 'direct funeral' for less than 2k though I know that wouldn't suit everyone, a basic traditional one is available for 3k. Anybody who dies without leaving some kind of plan for their love ones it’s pretty selfish in my view I’ve had to deal with a few dead people and it’s a nightmare there’s a real pressure to ‘do the right thing’ and spent thousands on polished hardwood and all that nonesense. Would you please sign up to organ donation It is an opt out policy now but so many go unused due to family etc not knowing your preference. You can go online @ organ donation nhs to register your preference On a personal note , I would greatly appreciate it, as I’m listed for double lung transplant, no joy this last 7 months, but forever positive and hopeful it will happen . They'll enquire of your next of kin if they can pay "NoK are not required to or responsible for paying for anyone's funeral. They can ask, but you can say no even if you are a multi millionaire. Just the same as councils cannot expect or require NoK/Attorneys to pay for the care of their relatives, but it doesn't stop them asking or expecting it. | |||

Very sad if someone who can afford will see you getting a council cremation "Being biologically related to someone does not mean you have anything to do with them, and potentially for very good reason. People's Estate should be funding funerals before they pay out to any beneficiaries. It's mainly people who don't have anything or enough to leave behind, who will finish up needing the Council to pay. | |||

" My mother in law had made all the arrangements for her body to be donated to medical science, and it was her dying wish which she has discussed with me and her son. But her daughter went against those wishes and had her cremated before we could intervene. Very sad. I have since felt that I would like to donate my own body to medical science, but I don’t know how my children and remaining family would feel and I think that once I am gone it is most important that they make the choice of what helps them to deal with it best. | |||
