Rather have the message deleted unread or read and unanswered if you’d sent someone a message and they weren’t interested in you for whatever reasons?

Or maybe even block you?

Ta muchly!

To be honest, it doesn't matter either way. Either is "not interested".

Either way, it is out of my control what the recipient does with a message sent by me......once it lands in their inbox its theirs to do what they will with it

You’d think right? Yet some guys keep messaging either way… I don’t understand it.

What if they read but don’t delete? Or block?

Yeah, I don’t tend to worry about this sort of thing. But I guess I’m mostly chatting with people I know will reply.

It's fucking true, I guess it all comes down to expectations carried and acting out on those when they are not met....

I don’t really check either but I just experienced this with someone and I don’t understand what they think they’ll achieve from it.

wherever I may roam

If I'm interested enough to message someone I always send and delete from my outbox. They'll still get it and can respond if they like, in the meantime I'm not reading anything into whether it's read, deleted, not opened, whatever.

Clearly some people don’t and felt the need to message again after I deleted it unread.

People are weird eh!

I'm fine with either and/or a block

Unread with no delete I'd also tale as a 'No thanks' too tbh

I think some people just can’t handle rejection. Or can’t quite believe that a woman doesn’t get the vibe from them.

In the end it’s a buyers market. I’ve been fairly successful here as my veris will account for, however I probably get a reply to 1 in 50 messages.

Just have to remember that variety is the spice of life and you’re not for everyone

Tend not to send many, having learnt that as a male, however well crafted, will most likely be unanswered.

To answer your question I guess unread (deleted or not) is less of a rejection, than read and unanswered. Might be just lost in the deluge of copy & paste spam messages that I hear you ladies are subjected to.

I don't check what people do with my messages. I just don't care. I do unread and delete though.

Read an unanswered because from that I deduce one of the following

They have a reading age of 6 an I used a long word. We could be here a while

They read it and have started a cult based on me, now the faithful are waiting on further messages

I’ve slightly ungayed them enough that they no longer want to talk

They read it out loud and now Siri and Alexa keep suggesting drag race and McDonald’s.

Maybe. I’ve been know to be ‘wrong’

I'm having a slight flashback to women being angry with me on here; assuming I wasn't interested.

I don't know the answer to this one OP it seems whenever I try to adopt some kind of systematic approach to messaging, it pisses someone off, so I just do what comes naturally to me now.

Always read and deleted. If you're going to the hassle of having a look at their profile, just open the message at the very least. Everyone knows where they stand then and we can just forward the message on to the next one

God I hope they don’t want a holy book. I could maybe manage a holy flyer, maybe a pamphlet at a push..

I don't mind either way as it signifies they are not interested.

With this approach, maybe I am in the minority on here, but I would never send a second message to anyone unless I get a reply to my first message.
