Affairs at BP

Reports that BP, which actually is short for British Petroleum, are tightning the net on those employees having relationships or affairs. Previously, employees only had to report if one line managed the other or could have influence over the others career. BP have given all employees a 3 month deadline to report any relationship or affair or face the sack.

Is this BP being nosy or good business sense. Have any fabbers had affairs at work? What if a senior mele manager is having a secret affair with both his secretary and the receptionist. What's going on here. It's all over the news

We're married. We work together, in different departments. I'm senior to him at work. I worked there first and then he joined later. I manage staff who are couples. We have several married couples at work, it's a non issue.

I better hope my job never insists on official disclosure of sex lives

Shouldn’t be an issue, unless one works for the other. But also danger of possible collision, weakening control systems etc.

I left when l got into a long term relationship with a colleague.

The chief executive had a relationship with an employee, whilst married, that went south, then it got messy, he lied about it, so he had to go. It stems from a corporate governance issue.
