I had 3 generations of Border Collies, all reared from pups, would love another but time is needed to fully look after a dog

I have a BT, his dad picked him out from a litter of farm stock somewhere in the Midlands I believe.

Try searching in Preloved as some breeders list their pups for sale.

Got one, fantastic dog and would highly recommend. Breeder was in Aylesbury so a bit far for you I suspect.

Bolton

We'd always go to the animal shelter first to see if we can give a homeless dog a good home - there are so many it seems a shame not to try there first. Z

MAMOBA, miles and miles of bugger all (Aberdeenshire)

Love my Border Terrier - we got him from kilmarnock. A good dog is worth travelling for.

Happy small dog times ahead!

Have tried shelters but they seem to be overflowing with Staffies. Not for me I'm afraid. Shelters are also quite reluctant to home alot of dogs in a home with young children. Would much prefer a rescue dog but don't think it will be possible.

Having a BT is like having a stroppy teenager that's always saying "whatever" to you all the time. Lovely dogs though

To be honest tho I want to stress I think animal shelters do a great job and im in full support of them I would sooner have a puppy that I could bring up myself, some rescue dogs can come with a lot of baggage and can be very hard to retrain if they are older and set in their ways

I have only ever had one rescue dog and she bit my daughter after only having her two days so sadly I had to return her and because she had bit they put her to sleep, was very sad as you never know their back ground and if they are scared their behaviour isn't their fault, since then I have only had puppies and only had the usual training problems that you expect with a puppy

Im also fully awear that some rescue dogs are great, before everyone with a good rescue dog jumps down my throat lol but its pot luck on which you get
