Incorrect words

So I'm at an airport and an announcement goes out 'will all guests for flight...' guests? What's wrong with passengers? The airline didn't invite me, I paid for a ticket. If the delightful Sandra invites me to stay overnight I'm a guest; are they trying to make me feel better for being squashed into a plane at a density that would be illegal for just about any species other than humans?

I agree.

On the London Underground (or Blundergroud, because it rarely works) they announce passenger as customers. Well, yes, they are customers because they've bought a ticket but I still find that a tad weird and incongruous.
