"Underthinking. There’s a simple idea. Maybe there’s enough in it to write one of those little ‘inspiring’ books you see by the till in greetings card shops." 95‰ of the UK population could challenge for gold in the under/non thinking Olympics! So, if you need a Dragon's Den idea, you could be onto a winner.

"Dunno. I love that point in meditation when you transcend, and thought stops. Then you come back, think "I had no thoughts then", and smile. But I also like the full, symphonic, technicolour thinking that is the images of beef curtains in my mind. It's a quandary Swing, for sure xx." That split the second when you stop thinking, and everything suddenly makes sense!

"So, leaving Cartesian Dualism's rather crummy legacy of the mind-matter split to one side for a mo... What I've always found fascinating is... Cogito ergo sum All curly and soft-looking, right? I think therefore I am More pointy and sharp bits. And emphasis on separate and individual pronouns, rather than the verb doing that work on its own. I've often wondered how the "pointy" nature and separate pronouns of "I" have influenced the cult of individualism in WASP-y nations...that phallic drive to dominance...the primacy of the erect "I". Not a great legacy. Now...back to that Cartesian Dualism issue as well..... " now you really help with my not overthinking and falling into a trance like state

My brain is a giant bowl of spaghetti being spun round at 100mph " It can't feel like anything as it happens - if it did, that would be a thought. So you only "know" about it in retrospect, and you "know" it was rather profoundly relaxing, aware, and empty. All sounds contradictory until you've experienced it. Well, it is contradictory. But our best guess of reality is somewhat contradictory, so you're in good company x

But our best guess of reality is somewhat contradictory, so you're in good company x Now my brain hurts" Thought it would. Go learn to meditate (properly - not an app). No guarantees your brain will hurt less, but it probably won't start hurting less if you don't meditate. Oh - and if any meditation teacher says it's about "emptying your mind" - walk away. Busy thoughts are part of meditation - a very large part. They're the mind filtering and sorting, and meditation just filters and sorts them better - but it "wants" them - it doesn't "ban" them. You may occasionally get to the "no thoughts" place - and it's quite something when you realise (after) that it's happened. But it's not the objective. Good luck.
