Ey up again good folks; it’s yet another highly interesting, intellectually deep and thought provoking thread from me today…

So….when you’ve had a bath or shower, do you step straight out onto the mat or else do you dry your feet (and possibly your body) firstly?

Clearly any of you who step right out, dripping wet and subsequently render the mat absolutely soaking are godless heathens but I’m not the judgemental sort….no, not I

I do as much drying as I can in the shower and then get out onto the mat (which is actually a towel on the floor).

Our son manages to render the towel completely soaking after he gets out. Mr KC and I can shower consecutively, stand on the same towel and it be half as wet. It's a curious phenomenon.

Well me ole' Sensual - I'm straight out of the bath onto the mat. The ones I have are quite chunky (or at least, not flimsy).

They never get particularly wet tbh, but get hung over the bath a couple of minutes later and are dry within a few hours.

Then I rub my penis on them and remember Paris.

I am very particular about this. Like a total nutter at times. I am disgusted at stepping out onto a wet mat after someone else has left it soaking wet. I’m also really fussy about the type of mat I have. It has to be extra thick and fluffy. The softest mat that exists under my feet.

So, with that preface I stand in the shower and dry myself off, feet included, before stepping out onto the mat. I squeeze the excess water out of my hair and wrap it in a towel for no longer than two minutes. My meticulous drying process ensures the mat is dry for the next person, should there be one, to use the shower.

Must be a youngin thing when my son showers it ends up all over the floor and on practically every surface in the bathroom

I run my hands tighyly over my body to remove any excess water, then towel dry in the shower, so when i step out I dont make a mess.

No need for a bath mat, which is just one more thing to clean. And it makes the bathroom smell.

Then again, after i shower, I also squeegy the shower door / panel, and towel dry the chrome taps, then einse down the basil / floor . That way my shower is always clean, and it only takes less than a minute.

Well….. here goes. I have a lovely fluffy bath mat that is also anti-slip, but I lay a hand towel on top of it before I step out of the bath or shower. This allows for even more cushiony goodness and also absorbs really well so after a couple of seconds I can step off and leave barely a footprint on the bathroom floor. Then the hand towel gets chucked in the wash every couple of uses and the mat can get neatly placed over the side of the bath still relatively dry

I dry myself thoroughly within the tub or the shower tray/cubicle, then cock one leg up to dry the sole of my foot before stepping onto the bath mat, repeating the same with the other leg.

This way the bath mat is perpetually dry.

We have a walk-in shower. I usually wrap a towel round my hair while in there, then step onto the bath mat to put on my robe. However, if someone else is in the shower with me I step straight onto the mat and dry there or risk being pulled back under the water and groped

Previously used drying towel over the mat (was left to dry over the side of the bath from last time, and fresh towel to dry off with. That then goes on the side of the bath to be used to go over the mat the next time.

Leaves the bath mat dry.

I hate a wet bath mat.

I have enough trouble staying up right at the best of times, let alone trying to dry my trotters before I get out the shower. Straight onto the mat (it's not actually that wet).

Although we lived in a shared house once and the people we lived with would get out the shower onto the lino, no towel down or anything, the amount of times I got wet socks was ridiculous! I put a lovely sign up and then a mop appeared!

I have a shower over the bath (as opposed to a separate shower enclosure).

I have a bath mat which lives on the floor permanently, and a towel which goes on top of the bath mat (which lives on the side of the bath when not in use).

Once I've finished having a shower, I squeegee the shower screen, which allows much of the water to run off me. I then use a flannel to wipe the majority of the water off my body, from head to toe (if I've washed my hair, it will already be wrapped up in my specific hair towel). I then step out of the bath onto the towel, and wrap my bathsheet around myself to dry off completely.

I then rinse out the flannel, and hang it up to dry. A damp flannel dries much more quickly than a damp towel.

I lived in my flat without much heating for 10 years, so drying stuff quickly was important (although I've flannel dried for years).
