Or burn them if you’re from before technology?

Or do you just leave them and see them as a part of your journey?

I print them off on Kodak™ glossy paper and stick them on my refrigerator as a 'wall of shame'.

somewhere

When I split from my ex husband, I went through and awful time, I started a new FB account as I didn't want my family to see the pain I was going through (I used it as an outlet 10 years ago), so I still have my old account with all my pictures of my ex on as they are part of my past and despite how we ended (we ended up friends) we did have a life together before doughnut, we did things that make me happy, plus lots of pictures with the kids as a family.

If we didn't have kids, I'm not so sure if it would be the same story x

A Polaroid was once the pinnacle of modern technology.

You'll never know the joy of going to pick up 'those' pics from the developer counter at Asda.

Only to find that you’d spunked £10 on a roll of film, developing, and packing…….all 36 over/underexposed, blurry smudges, that to you looked like David Bailey had shot when you saw it through the viewfinder.

I delete them. But kept one of me and my ex together ready for when I sit my daughter down and somehow explain she has got a dad but he wasn't ready to be one yet talk. I'd like to say he's just a fucking dick but I couldn't do that to her.

Of just them. Yes.

Of events and memories that hold sentimental value to me. No.

But I take time, carefully choosing which to keep and which to lose.

After past experiences I'm very careful of potential new partners who hold onto old photos of their exs.

Get rid, otherwise it just encourages maudlin.

I have kept pics of the kids dad but his pics are in their rooms (he does see them, just thought it be nice for them to have).

I deleted my ex husband from all social media and most of my digital albums.

I haven't put any of last two partners on my social media but did delete most the photos I had as no need for them.

..... I also delete all intimate pictures etc .... don't need the memories ...

I tore off some pictures of my son's father from ye olde pics taken on 35mm film. Then I realised I was erasing HIS life and history so I stopped. I only did it to 3 or 4 pictures. I archived the rest. If my son wants them, he can have them.

I don't really have any other exes to erase. Boyfriends before him were when I was in Year 9/10 and actually, they're very nice people and I'm still friends with them. So no, no erasing. There's pics on 35mm film of me, them and us at parties etc.

La la land

I have some, they are the pictures of my kids father. They're in the attic and I never want to see them again personally.

But as a kid of parents who are divorced it's part of my history too, and I'm glad my parents kept photos of them together. It gives you a sense of who and where you are from.

Yes, we made a lot of great memories. She is and was part of who I am and have become today. We were best friends and have remained in touch.

I can understand why some wouldn't want to though.

Great question as my phone through social media and its photo app, often highlights I have a memory that day.

When I was going through the divorce I looked at the photos and considered deleting them all. Every single one that had her in the picture. However I’m glad I didn’t, as I’m over her and quite like the memories of my children when they were younger, even with their mum.

Second star to the right…

I have never been one to take many pictures of girlfriend or the ex wife so not a lot to get rid of.

Usually they took the pictures so only had a few to dispose of.

The ones where it was an amicable split live on in my memory.

I don’t delete traces of actual relationships. Exes are part of your life story, no need to pretend they didn’t happen.

What’s that saying? Those who deny history are doomed to repeat it?

Any on my phone, particularly intimate ones, or printed and displayed go, why would you keep them.

Any on FB, life moves on, my ex’s are a part of my life story and have influenced (rightly or wrongly) who I am today, no point pretending it didn’t happen. I don’t make a point of re-visiting them or re-sharing them, just acknowledge and mostly ignore or occasionally smile at some of the happier memories.

I tell you what though, if it’s a bad break-up I block ’em on every form of social media known to man or beast. Memories are one thing, but I don’t need to see what happened next.
