It's stood for the Fingering and Boning company that was established back in the early 80's. Then later on it became FAB as fingering was going out of fashion in modern day Britain.

It used to be called FAD(Fabulous Amateur Dramatics) so while the content remains the same the name was changed to Fabulous Amateur Bollocks to better reflect the ratio.

We used to say that it stood for Fart and Belch back in the early days of Thunderbirds on black and white telly.

The writers of Thunderbirds said it was a Beatles reference and didn’t have a meaning. Gear was another word from that era
