May I pick your brains? Did you notice the nature of your natural body odour changing as you went through the menopause? I ask cos, my hormone suppression injection is wearing off (again) and I'm in a kind of reverse menopause and again, I notice what I smell like much more now. I didn't notice any kind of odour, even after the gym, when the hormone suppression was high.

Yay for the reverse menopause again for about the 8th time. I'll be going back through it (again) towards menopause in the first week of July

PS: I'm not so stinky that you can smell me from 20 paces

I didn't notice the nature of my body odour changing. I did notice a definite thinning of underarm hair, sprouting of chin hair and funny little dry patches on my forehead.

Could it be your sense of smell changing rather than the actual odours?

Or a bit of both...

Hmmmm. I don't think so. Nothing else changes smell and I've got a VERY keen sense of smell. It correlates with when my injections are working (menopause) and worn off (out of menopause, again). I'm currently on the "coming out of menopause" phase because my next hormone blocker is due in 3 weeks. They're meant to last 12wks but they never do.

Hi there,

Yes before I went on HRT I noticed that I smelt weird, and yes it is a menopause thing.

Not sure of the science but antiseptic cleansing stuff helps. Mint and T tree shower gel, chlorhexadine body wash, using Germaline, lavender oils in washing products, may help. Avoid strong smelling foods.

There's possibly more information on line?

It's not that I smell bad. Just different. And stronger without the hormone blockers. Was just curious if others experienced something similar and seems they do
