I was recently made aware of some decent no alcohol beers. I love a beer. And whilst in my experience most of them are dogs piss of the kestral variety... I've come across a few that are actually mighty fine... But what the fuck is the dealio with charging the same or even more than their alcohol filled equivalent.?! I mean 6.50 for a 330ml bottle of no alcohol is a right rip off.

It's nothing new. Just ask any designated driver what they have to pay for soft drinks in a pub.

It's rich pickings when pubs charge high equivalent prices for non-alcoholic drinks . Realise OP is discussing beers and potentially from alternative venues.

Alcohol taxes often are a substantial part of the retail place which obviously don't apply to soft drinks.

I'm guessing that lower volume productions could account for some of the higher pricing. But greed is likely a large factor

I stopped alcohol a year ago for health reasons. I now drink alcohol free Heinekin, and alcahol free Guinness, both very nice, and cheap in comparison.
