Passed on my 4th attempt.

I took an intense course driving around North London at the time.

I had the same examiner that failed me the first time for my second attempt.

After failing the third time with a different examiner, I took lessons with BSM and drove in more sedate areas in Surrey, and passed.

I care and would have back in the 80s. You have a degree you didn't earn, a driving license you have no right to and you were claiming dole whilst working and not paying taxes, I assume. You may be the most dangerous driver on the road. My life in the 80s was very different and the people I knew then would have cared.

Hull

I passed my test first time.

My father took his test twice. #No1 was in the "New Town" of East Kilbride, near Glasgow. There, all the traffic, cyclists and pedestrians are all segregated at junctions, roundabouts etc. He failed!!

#No 2 ended up being booked in Glasgow City Centre at the start of the rush hour, and on the day, in the middle of a blizzard! He passed!

I'd two uncles who never sat a car driving test in their lives; they learnt their driving skills in the Army, in which they worked for Bomb Disposal in WW2.

It was their job to move LIVE bombs out of built up areas on the back of their trucks, to an area for blowing up! At the end of the war, they earned their car licences automatically!

Passed first time after 2 lessons. Had been driving for a couple of years at work (private land). used to drive dads double decker round the back of the depot so confidance wasnt a problem. The lessons were to have the bad bits pointed out to me.

My grandad never took a test was given driving rights during the war when the country needed to mobilise.

1st time for car

1st time for class C

2nd time for class C+E. But there were extenuating circumstances. Was in the RAF and The course took place near Barry Island in S.Wales in the summer of 1995, where I was seeing the filthiest most depraved young lady it has ever been my good fortune to shag. So to ensure an extra week of sun, fun and dirty sex every evening, all it took was doing 50 in a 40.

.

Was told to put in for my test after my first lesson at the end of May, took me til September to get a test and passed first time.

My emergency stop was a real incident as a toddler ran into the road in front of me. I almost stood up on the brakes, but kept perfect control of the car and stopped yards short of the toddler

Fareham

My mum started giving me lessons in July 1986. My dad laughed and said 'if you pass your test first time with your mother teaching you, I'll buy you a car!'

I passed first time 4 months later without a single lesson from a driving school

Four days later, my dad turned up jangling the keys of my Escort MkI
