I keep thinking about fitting a set to my bike, so how well do they work, do your hands stay nice and warm or does it just take the edge of the cold ?

.

Not a bike rider, but was in Finland a couple of months back and had heated grips on my snowmobile. Well worth it!

Well worth it, get the best you can afford as they can be bulky and feel a little odd compared to normal grips. Get them wired so they go off when then bike is turned off (know of people who have killed there battery by leaving them on) also worth buying a trickle charger to keep the battery topped up

Get Oxford sport grips, they are better than factory fitted ones.

No problem wiring them,Neg to battery.live[red] to rear brake light[live wire]then it will work off the ignition switch.

I have them on my Vmax, very good, hope this helps.

Worth every penny. I had a set on my old Zephyr, they make a real difference, not just in winter either.

Just bought an fjr with factory heated grips. Been caught out in the snow twice now and they helped keep it fun. Considering buying the Oxford ones for my other bikes now I know what difference they make.

But it will be warm soon!!!!!!!!!!

What about those wind-guards? I was thinking about those for mine. Surely they'd keep that icy windchill off?

they can take the edge off, but you need thin then thick gloves anyways when its cold enough to warrant using grips, just make sure you have a good battery, as just like alarms they can flatten batteries.

Quite nice on the ride home on a summer evening unzip jacket a bit and just warm ya hands a wee bit

My mate has hand guards on his Vstrom, he said they make a little bit of difference but we both still had freezing cold hands the other day when we went out they when you get home you just need a women to warm you back up lol
