So as we’re almost halfway through the year now- what goals and resolutions did you set back at the start of the year? How are you doing with them?

Personally I set myself a goal to establish more boundaries between work and personal life. It started off well but not so much now..

The Continental

I didn’t set anything at the start of the year. It’s spared me the disappointment of epic failure.

That said, I am going to attempt to eat a whole lot less, and with better quality during the second half of this trip around the sun.

Mine is the same as it has been for the last four years: lose weight

I'm determined to get it done this year as i have a semi big birthday coming up next year and I plan to travel alot. I want to actually feel comfortable on a beach and not feeling like a huge whale

I’m normally really good at goal setting but this year I haven’t been able to get into the habit. I probably need monthly micro goals/habits ahead of a re shift in 2025!!

Great thread Demi! My sort of thing

Mine was same as last few years, find a reason to stay alive. Not totally achieved as current reasons are for others, not me

My goals were to stop crying in the shower, to lose weight, to have sex and to shave my toes.

I shaved my toes.

January was screwed cos it had an extra day, so all the goals went wrong

I didn't really have any as life for the past year has been all about supporting my son as he works through an MH crisis.

However, in March I did work out the tetris theme tune on my new ukulele in about 10 minutes

I am very disappointed with the shaved toes, I liked you as a hobbit (although slightly oversized in height)

I did not set any goals at the beginning of the year. Last week I had a list of 21 things to do for work, five of which have been achieved - not billing though and that should have been done by 1 June.

I may set myself a goal for the next six weeks, and that will be to work on planks and other things that Midnight challenged us on in Jan 2023 - lets see the six pack in time for August!

Sagittarius A

I've accomplished a couple of things.

I came down a jeans size.

I stopped coming on here and procrastinating - I think that's going really well.

My goal of moving my work online has not gone so well, I need to get that sorted.

That's my next undertaking.

My goal in the first half of the year was to get through my crippling grief. I’ve done that now. And now my goal is to live life to the full every single day

My goal was to leave the job I was in and get back into running again.

I started my new job in February and loving it, the running hasn’t started yet so need to get myself motivated

.

This is going to be really clichéd but I'm not apologising for that. My main goal was to start taking chances. Risks.

You know; push myself out of my comfort zone a bit. It's going... incredibly well. This year I achieved something very big that I'd worked towards for quite some years. I've been more proactive talking to those I want to know.

And I've said yes to a date. Last time I ran away (waddled, fair) but this time I'm embracing it.

somewhere

It was the worst start of the year for me/us, the last thing I did was set any goals, that said now I'm in a better place, I have several things I want to achieve:

Finish the hallway and put bedroom

Walk from durdle door to Lulworth cove without complaint

Go to Cornwall

All highly achievable and being in such a positive place now, I'm so much more productive x

I didn’t make any resolutions or set any goals this year.

But life happens and things come along, don’t they? Goals sort of turn up.

So now I want to hear Nell play the Tetris theme on her ukulele. And I’d like a new job, please.
