As the title, songs that are covers that you think are better than the original version. You can also add ones that you didn't know were covers.

Faith No More - Easy (Lionel Richie / Commodores)

Hurt - Johnny Cash (Nine Inch Nails)

Whitney screams through this, Dolly's is much gentler, beautiful, heart felt.

It’s not better than the original as I love Grace Jones. But it’s a great tribute to the song.

Sla*e to the Rhythm- Lady Blackbird and Trevor Horn.

Well worth a listen if you liked the original version.

Walk on guilded splinters by paul weller... A great version of a Dr John original (which was also good but not as good as Weller).

"Sunday morning coming down Johnny Cash, it was by Kris Kristofferson originally "

Jerry Lee Lewis does the best version of this, not a tune you’d necessarily associate with him but it’s really good.

Kris Kristofferson wrote some brilliant tunes that have been covered with distinction.

"prince wrote the song but didn't perform it until long after sinead had a hit with it.

Not sure about performing live but it was released on The Familys eponymous album a good few years before sinead did it

Not sure about best but probably one of the most popular/unknown: Blame it on the boogie - Jackson 5 (Mick Jackson) in a vinyl printing error both ended up being in the charts together due to close release dates

Paper Town Central, Essex.

Alone Again Or - The Damned (Arthur Lee & Love)

Muse - Feeling Good (Cy Grant)

Hurt - Johnny Cash (Nine Inch Nails)

Metallica - Whisky in The Jar (Thin Lizzy)

Cindy Lauper - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (Robert Hazzard)

Run DMC - Walk This Way (Aerosmith)

I'm not going to mention which version of Sound Of Silence I prefer. It depends on what sort of mood I'm in.
