Tin town

There's already a thread about rob burrow but... Apparently his final message was... "don't waste a moment" how very poignant and true. How much time do we waste on pointless crap.?

Having experienced more than ten family losses in the last couple of years we have come to the conclusion that it simply isn't possible to live life without wasting time

Gone and completely forgotten.

The older I get, the more relevant this gets:

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day

You fritter and waste the hours in an off-hand way

Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town

Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine, staying home to watch the rain

And you are young and life is long, and there is time to kill today

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you

No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking

Racing around to come up behind you again

Sun is the same, in a relative way, but you're older

Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time

Plans that either come to naught, or half a page of scribbled lines

Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way

The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say...

I'm going to a funeral tomorrow of someone special who also had MND. A very positive person. Someone who didn't give up or give in.

Such a wake up call.

I think about the lifelines, and likely health lines, not just of me but those close to me.

You don’t just live then one day die theres usually a chuck at the end when you’re not much fun and can’t climb mountains or do sexual gymnastics anyway, or maybe even have a meaningful conversation ?

When you stack those lines on top of each other you find you crack on with a bit more urgency.

Thank you. It will definitely be emotional, but they want tomorrow to be a celebration, so I will do my utmost to honour that.

A lot of people do live one day and then die.
