I've had French toast in the US, and it's honestly sickeningly sweet. I prefer eggs bread with some sea salt sprinkled on. It's honestly a magic food. I havet found an upper limit to how much I can eat of it.

Those are my choice too.

Love them!

Local farm eggs are always best, huge and dark. But golden yalkers are 2nd best

Milk, brandy, lemon skin, cinnamon and sugar....

Let the bread (french baguette or sweet bread, def not sour dough), soak for 1h turning over half way through.

Cover on egg and deep fry

Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon when still hot.

Yum yum yum

Eggy bread.

Mix a bit of egg with milk. Dip bread in it, pan fry. Call it French toast and charge £9. It’s just a con of a meal.

It was a meal we had when money was tight growing up.

Same. It's a luxury now with the price of eggs nowadays

So what we’re saying is that it’s essentially an egg n bread omelette?

Don’t like eggs unless they’re in cakes.

Fried bread……..now THAT’S a food of kings.

It's not!

That's what you brits make, but you don't even have nice bread to make them with....

Milk, brandy, lemon skin, cinnamon and sugar....

Good fresh bread. If you like sweet then brioche. Cut thick.

Good fresh free range farm eggs(real proper free range)

A little double cream.

Little drop of vanilla or fresh if you're a real chef.

Grind of himalaya salt.

Bit of cinnamon.

Soak the bread for at least five minutes.

I love french toast! When I can be bothered to make it, my recipe is 2 eggs, 2 egg whites, cinnamon, a scoop of vanilla protein powder (for the gainz bro) and use thick brioche slices. Then I drown it in syrup, cover with chopped strawberries and top it off with whipped cream

I make the best eggy bread, and I have it with baked beans. Not everyone's cuppa, but it works for me
