Just out of curiosity why do guys when leaving a veri when they have met a lady or a couple always put “treat her/them with the respect she/they deserve” surely that would be a natural thing to do without telling other people to do it.

I agree... It seems an odd statement to make, when respect should be at the forefront of anyone's mind when they're meeting and hoping for an enjoyable experience.

I wonder if it's simply that they've seen it written on other verifications so think it's fab etiquette - in much the same way people blindly add in the utterly useless legal warnings to their bios.

Reason 1 : They are unimaginative twonks who read something once and thought it sounded gentlemanly and fail to realise that it puts them right back in the Edwardian period when all women were no more than chatel to be beaten and taken at his leisure for his pleasure.

I've yet to read one which says

It's just filler, isn't it. Like when you're doing GCSE coursework and you can't quite make the word count, so you go back and pad it out with waffle and fluff.

I think it's because they believe that most women/couples don't deserve respect.

Don't deserve or don't get?

When I read though some of the threads there's often a clear lack of respect, maybe "treat him/her/them with respect" is attempting to correct it?

Don't deserve. Before I start I know it's not all men.

Some men do think of women and couples who have multiple partners as less worthy of respect. When they meet someone who is a normal, nice, straightforward person they think they're an exception and more worthy.

I see where you're coming from.

I recall a thread comment a while from a man castigated women for having multiple sexual partners.

Thought I'd woken up in the dark ages.

I think some are sincere when they say it, much like "I had such a nice time with xyz, she's very nice" but they use the respect thing instead because they are trying to convey they are really nice.

Some obviously put it because they have seen others put it.

Maybe if they had more respect for themselves they'd meet normal, nice, straightforward people more often

From there own experience with observation it suggests would be nice to offer a little normality which does get forgotten at times
