I'd say 90% of my friends are female. Some are married, some aren't, I regularly have breakfast, lunch or a coffee with them alone and its been that way for years! Feel like a gay best friend sometimes but to answer your question, yes I think it's possible. But, it is very easy to overstep the mark too.

I don’t know. I always thought everyone could, and I do think some can. I don’t think I can. I can have male friends on quite a shallow level. Going out, group get togethers, pleasant conversations without any real depth etc but I have never been able to sustain a really deep friendship with a man without sex being an element. I’m not sure why.

I’m not straight and I can manage to sustain very very healthy and deep friendship with women, including other bisexual/gay women, without sex being present. Weird one.

I think, as I’ve watched the film more and more over the years (it’s my favourite and comfort) I understand it to be true when there is sexual attraction. As in the film, the sex eventually gets in the way. If your friends with people you have no sexual interest in, of course you can be friends but I don’t think the film really covers that

I think you can be friends, openly discuss that you are attracted to each other and remain friends, whether you decide to fuck each other, or not.

When you have a partner, who fancies your friend in that situation, but your friend isn't attracted to her - that makes for some interesting conversations.

Probably at least 95% of the men in that situation, women seem perfectly capable of being friends with a bloke and nowt else, most men not so much

Yeah, I think it's definitely possible. You can definitely be on the same wavelength about many topics and not find them sexually attractive and vice versa. I think know sex will never be on the cards helps you focus on building that friendship
