Seeing as the Welsh couple have been jailed for skipping £1000 worth of restaurant bills, would you, could you or have you??

No, too many cameras... I've seen so many people posted on FB locally for doing this.

No. Never would, especially from an independent place. Absolute arsehole behaviour

Never done it and no intention

Many small independent venues are just skimming the waters of being profitable

Every £ counts

In an economy more and more relying on chains or brewers to feed us, independents matter

No, it's the behaviour of an adult that hasn't grown up.

I haven't, couldn't & definitely won't! We've all made jokes about who's doing the washing up when it comes to paying the bill, but would never dream of doing a runner!!

"Seeing as the Welsh couple have been jailed for skipping £1000 worth of restaurant bills, would you, could you or have you??"

Did once a very long time ago. About 8 of us. Service was awful, took about an hour to get a round of drinks... Not so much of a dash as a get up and walk slowly out, they held the door open for us so probably a mutually agreeable solution to a bad night at the inn. Wouldn't have minded but had been going there for about 3 years and always had a nice experience. But I can't abide some of the shite experiences that they have the audacity to charge for plus a fucking g tip.

Nobody needs to run out and if it's just to steal from someone else, then catch em and let the chef work his magic on the.

I wouldn’t say this is dining and dashing though, if you received poor service without some form of amicable agreement then you haven’t “dashed” per se..

I wouldn’t dine and dash personally, but I’ve been fortunate to have had great service every time I’ve eaten out

You usually find in independent restaurants it sometimes comes out the servers paycheques aswell, or negatively impact the business

I wouldn’t want it to happen to me if I owned a restaurant

Absolutely not- I’d hate to be the reason the waiter/waitress gets penalised in some form- total arseholes do this

I did. Two months ago when I had lunch with a erstwhile Nocturnal Host who was visiting London.

The weather had been awful all week and just as we finished our meal there was a sudden cloud burst. In the mad rush to escape the deluge I forgot to pay the bill.

I only realised when I got home that evening and I telephoned the bar and settled my debt over the phone.

It was a weird experience.

Many years ago we left without paying. The service had been terrible and when the waitress spilt vinegar all over me it was the last straw. As we walked out they asked if the money was on the table. We said that we were not paying and off we went! I was all prepared to come up with some sob story about how it was our first night out after the baby had been born!

They targeted small newly opened restaurants also.. Plus they used and involved their young kids and they had a string of other offences they deserved All they got.
