Their skin does not allow them to sunbathe. They dry up, if a blackbird does not get them first

They on the underside of leaves. Get rid of any you can see and sprinkle slug pellets around the flower bed or whatever it is. The bloody love my Rhubarb.

I put sharp sand round the plants I want to protect. The slugs can eat everything else and the birds can eat the slugs with no harm being caused to either.

Slug pellets are the worst thing you can use.

I'm sure they are now banned and removed from the shops.

A good way to rid yourself off a few slugs and snail is to provide a hiding place for them, let them gather in the mornings, then uncover them. If you have a blackbird it will deal with them for you, if not you will have to sort them yourself.

At about 1 in the morning last night, I was at my computer and about to go to bed. I just went to get up when my foot squelched on something cold and wet - yep, it was bloody slug!!

A big bastard, too! How the hell it managed to make it upstairs is a bloody mystery!!

It had an unfortunate encounter with some Saxa and an informal burial at sea, courtesy of the bog.
