Fairly random post but to fully explain a little while ago (days) I went to plug my PlayStation controller into my laptop. Normally works, I’d just moved so was using an old wire. It gave me the whole “device not recognise” chat.

However, now I keep getting the warning message pop up about every minute or so. I’ve turned it on and off. Plugged wires back in, uninstalled one of the usb drivers, about to do the second one. I’ve also looked for a way to silence the notification. I’ve tirned it off but it still fucking beeps!!!!

Please help!!!

About 3 feet away from the fence

Sound like the old wire you were using has a dodgy connection.

Worthing

Ps controllers are cheap on ebay. As per above suggestion, sounds like it's on the blink. Assume other items like mouse, usb drives work in the usb port ok?

Is anything else plugged into any other USB slot when you're getting this popup? (I assume we're talking about USB connections here)

Have you checked all your holes for dust? Give them a little blow.

Use a data cable to plug the controller into the USB and let it find it properly, see if that will complete the loop.

If not then yeah uninstalling all usb ports then reinstalling should fix it..

If in doubt, insert it again and move it around. It might be loose after all the insertions and removals.

A good hard blow is what's required!
