Dear fellows, chums and male progenitors,

When a woman replies with a •• to a comment that you've made on a thread, how do you interpret it?

Those fluttering êyêlashes — what do they even mean in those circumstances? Is she flirting with you? Is she telling you that she likes you. Is this an invitation to take it offline and just message her directly? Is she simply and wholeheartedly agreeing with your post?

Or...is she tormenting you like a greek mythological creature and nothing more?

Both, the Oxford English Dictionary, Merriam-Webster Dictionary, and others have long listed both “emoji” and “emojis” as options.

There is really only one way to find out! I use it in various ways mood and situation specific but normally just to add context to the comment! But then I am not a woman and they are all so very delightfully varied.

I had always assumed that when a woman did this it was some kind of nervous tick or else she had an eyelash in her eye.

Now if we want to go really deep, I have always been nervous of , since when I was a very small child my mother used to call that a 'butterfly kiss' and do that on my tummy. I clearly have issues more than half a century later

Order her an Uber home.

Lend her my jacket because she’s cold.

I thought of this post yesterday when a Fab man sent me a message with that emoji. I didn’t reply to his message simply because I didn’t have clarity on what he was using it to signify and also because this post makes it seem only Fab women should be using it.

I didn’t want to tell this man he was incorrectly using it, and should leave it to women.

"Dear fellows, chums and male progenitors,

When a woman replies with a •• to a comment that you've made on a thread, how do you interpret it?

Those fluttering êyêlashes — what do they even mean in those circumstances? Is she flirting with you? Is she telling you that she likes you. Is this an invitation to take it offline and just message her directly? Is she simply and wholeheartedly agreeing with your post?

Or...is she tormenting you like a greek mythological creature and nothing more?"

As a woman, I would also love to know what this means

P

I'm attracted to them like a fly is attracted to the ultraviolet light!

"I thought of this post yesterday when a Fab man sent me a message with that emoji. I didn’t reply to his message simply because I didn’t have clarity on what he was using it to signify and also because this post makes it seem only Fab women should be using it.

I didn’t want to tell this man he was incorrectly using it, and should leave it to women. "

I think I've used it once or twice and it made me feel queasy, like some form of androgynous gesture.

I think it's best left to the women.
