Good city, very good food, couple of very good nights out in nightclubs / disco bars.

Then went to langkawi, which was fantastic

Americans can’t pronounce the name properly.

Koala lum-poor was about the best they could muster

Back in Malice

Interesting place and probably worth visiting for 24 hours, but not a patch on Hong Kong, Bangkok, Jakarta or Gainsborough.

Yes. Went to school in Malaysia and my best man is from KL, so been a number of times - but prefer Kuching in Sarawak.

Yes, I'm not sure if I'd be bothered to go again. Nice for a day or so.

I preferred KL to HK. HK was just too manic, couldn’t walk down the streets without sales people hassling you

Yeah it was boiling hot and not much to do. Though I did meet a stranger there and ended up going on a road trip across Malaysia with him to meet his family in the rainforest. So that was decent

That’s also how my friends from KL pronounce it

The local swingers mostly use a forum call "Swingthat" or "Feeld" app.

Glad you had a good local connection.

Things to do in KL...

1. Petronas Twin Towers, really beautiful in my opinion and totally awesome. You can get tickets to the skybridge connecting the buildings.

2. Batu Caves. Short hop on train to natural limestone caves with Hindu Temple. Watch out for the monkeys.

3. Selangor Pewter. Did you know Tin is a natural resource in Malaysia? The V&A (Victoria and Albert) Museum in London commissioned some beautiful pieces worth buying. My ex bought an official Lord of the Rings Chess Set which is stunning!

4. KL Tower. A telecommunications tower that gives better views of KL than anywhere else.

5. PNB118, the second tallest building in the world soon to open. I've never been so I'm looking forward to my next trip!

6. Shopping and Food... It's a Shoppers and Foodie paradise, literally every corner. Book a hotel in area called Bukit Bintang, you'll be in the heart of it all. If you don't believe me, YouTube search [Kuala Lumpur] and so many travellers love it!

7. Great value.

All of that stuff is the standard generic tourist things. And a lot of it is quite boring (just my opinion - but shopping and the towers were pretty dull).

Best thing to do in KL is meet with a local and get them to take you to the suburbs. All the best parties, bars (yeah they have some), restaurants, local events and wild stuff happens out in the suburbs. The city is sort of a ghost town in comparison
