I know I am a man of a certain age…but I have been struck by how many men on here have no notion that they might be attractive to someone, anyone…I have lost track of the number of blurry, weirdly coloured, photos that I have received. I am pretty sure it is a man thing and we train our boys not to think of themselves as attractive…to women or men…Any thoughts on why some men refuse to show off a little?

OP, I think most men lack the imagination, inclination or inspiration to take representational photos of themselves, unless they're hiding something or doing a rushed job for whatever reason. I don't know...

Any thoughts on what’s going on? Is it an old man summer beer belly thing, where WE have told our boys that having a willy is enough? I have lost track of the number of bare beer bellies I have seen in the park (why?) …

I am happy to show my mugshot

I don't think (facially) I look bad for a guy of my age

I would never show my body though, because I don't like it

The solution is deeper than the gym

The dysmorphia is strong after decades of weight gains and weight losses

I know I'm not hugely fat, but body confidence is not strong enough to show 2D pics

Weirdly, in a club or a social situation, I don't have the same hang ups because the viewer then gets me in 3D glorious technicolour and quite often, then, they look beyond the body

Here though, we make so many snap decisions based on a selection of 2D images and a few words

I guess some don’t think of themselves as being sexual in the way they think of women? And the more invested you are in the response the harder it is.

Aren't you tired of sex yet? I love women, talking to them, making them laugh, enjoying their company, i don't need to make it about sex until I've met them. I guess as you get older your confidence in your looks goes a bit but your confidence perse is still with you don't you think?
