"So today I had to go to the hospital about an injection I take. They took my blood, weight and height and blood pressure. All well and good. Tomorrow I've got a community nurse coming out to guess what take my blood weight, height and blood pressure. They knew I was having it done today when they booked it last week. What a bloody waste of time and money" Call and cancel. All the details they took today will be on your records.

" Not necessarily, community nurses are normally organised by the gp and the surgery where I work we can't see results of bloods done at the hospital on your record. Stupid system but we often have to double up on testing. Hospital can see ours but not the other way round.

"Perhaps the NHS use the same software system as the Post office " Seriously, you can't make it up... I had blood test done FIVE weeks ago but the next day they sent me a text to say the "Sample was not usable". So five weeks later, at the retest appointment, I asked what happened to the last one? Apparently the nurse used an old, but otherwise functional label.

What a bloody waste of time and money Local nhs systems are linked However, if you haven't authorised for your medical records to be shared, it will have to get done twice as the details can't be seen" GP surgeries can't see hospital tests on the patients record regardless of consent to share, however hospitals and other services can see the GP record.
