From the land of haribos.

Have you seen it and what do you think of it? It kind of gives mixed messages I think.

On one side it is cool, but on the other side which I agree with others who have critised it, is that, it looks kinda satanic doesnt it with all the red, like we are entering a new age of world order.

When you look at it, you dont really see what it is, to me it seems like the background is more important than the subject of it. I find it a bit strange, dont you?

I quite like it.

Every official royal portrait in the history of the long as been deeply symbolic. This one's no different but I'm not entirely sure what the symbolism means

I would be worried if I learned Charlie had seen it before it was unveiled.

I would tell the painter he could keep it and not pay him.

The artist has explained a few such as the butterfly and the use of red. I suppose that people will place their own interpretation on it

I find it interesting that he's square on to the viewer, no slight side angle just straightforward, direct gaze

I hope is not the red picture that is going to be sent to buildings.

I still can't find out who paid for the Red Picture I suspect it was the king,

If its to represent the blood spilled in the name of the British Empire they've absolutely nailed it.

I’m fairly sure Charles isn’t a Carpathian. Much less a sorcerer….

Although it would be quite cool.

I'm enjoying the memes very much - Francis Bacon, Dracula and Gina Rinehart are my favourites so far.

I saw one version that was recoloured blue and i have to say i preferred it to the red, which seems very aggressive and reminiscent of blood - it did cross my mind it was done with 'stop oil' in mind which is great publicity for them. Someone clever should definitely capitalise on that!

I do like it, but i wouldn't hang it in my house, and I'd be disappointed if it was me

Without doubt Charles the firsts portraits' by van Dyke steals the show for me with different views from one side of the head to the other when I first saw those paintings I was captivated by them, nothing was to much for Van dyke and all the great painters like him... Just sorry that cromwell had the last word.

That three views one is fascinating because in the full profile on the left he almost looks like a different person. Poor chap

Reverse the portrait and put it beside the original. Look around the middle. You will see that the artist was possibly a Motorhead fan!
