I like winks to gauge someone’s interest, it’s like a mini flirt before a really well written message if they reciprocate.

Ladies and couples we reply to winks.

Single guys we reply to if we like the look of them.

It is a casual way of showing interest and we like the system.

We use winks to show interest. If we get one back we send a message.

If we receive a wink and like the look of the winners we send one back and wait for them to message.

I don't send winks. I haven't sent one for years, other than those which are part of a forum game or a challenge (an equally pointless exercise). A few friends on here have told me their 'wink tally' just from men varies between 350 and 600++ winks. A wink from a single man - no matter how well-intentioned with all the airs and graces - will simply languish like a forgotten waif in some obscure orphanage.

No woman of substance has the time or the wherewithal to sift through an ever-increasing mountain of winks. Hence their limited use. In fairness they are useful to a small minority... perhaps couples...
