The etiquette of “happy fabbing”

Sutton Coldfield

So recently someone had the decency to say “not what we’re after … happy fabbing x” and I thought that was a really nice way of closing it off instead of day back and forth talk for ages and then complete ghosting.

Is “happy fabbing” the etiquette for “thanks but no thanks”?

And if not … maybe it should be

Way I take it, it implies you might not be their cup of tea but you're still someone's.

I like it, at least someone takes the time

Yeah that’s what I’m saying, it’s a decent thing and you know where you stand

Definitely better than just "no" etc or just having message deleted.

I think them saying you're not what they're after is them saying no thanks

"Happy fabbing" is just a way of saying have fun on the site

We always say no thanks and good luck - no need to be arsehole really. Just nice to be nice and wouldn’t be rude in real life to someone so why do so here

Absolutely think this is the best. I’m new here as a solo male which is wildly different than as a couple. No reply just makes me assume I’m being a creep or appearing as one lol

I think us blokes in here need to remember the sheer volume of messages that women receive. Replying to all would require a small team of personal assistants, even just to say 'Thanks but no thanks - may you find the Fab adventures you are looking for'.

I must say, I'm totally disinclined to reply when somebody hasn't read my profile.

I don’t think you’ll get many disagreements in here.

It’s as polite as it’s mean to be I guess. Good in them.

Oh I know this! Have been on here only as part of a couple before now so know what I’m up against being on the other side now!

Also never had to “market” myself on a dating profile or swinging site, so just feels a bit vain and up myself to sit here and basically just compliment myself or draft an eye catching profile.

Guessing that’s what’s needed to be seen in the avalanche of single blokes messages

Happy fabbing, not for me but have fun, not what I’m looking for but exactly what someone rise is, etc.

Saying no can be done kindly.

.

I sometimes use happy fabbing as I friendly good bye and sometimes as more of a please fuck off, depending on my mood or if I feel harassed

It’s just being polite at the end of the day.

If nothing comes of an interaction with someone, I generally thank them and wish them good luck, no matter who’s turning who down.
