Because sometimes people want to take a break but don't want to delete their profile.

Some because they want to perhaps because they have been receiving abuse from someone.

Some because they need a break from the high volume of messages.

I've hidden my profile because of personal reasons, so am taking a break from meets, but still want to come and talk to my friends. This site is more than just being about sex.

Many many reasons, but the best one that I can think of is this ....

The site provide the facility and people are allowed to use it - without question or fear of retribution.

Is that a good enough reason ?

Enough people to meet with for now

Not in the country for now

Not meeting just now so doesnt want to waste peoples time sending messages

Busy at work

Family commitments

School holidays

No free time to meet

Because they want to

Lots of reasons.

I think one reason is they are not looking to meet at that current time so hide profile until they are looking again.

I always thought it was because they were doing other things so were having a break and would be back another time. I hope so, I know 2 people who have hidden profiles and I'd like to keep in contact with them.

I hid mine at one point because work, my daughter getting married, family from overseas meant I didn't have time to meet but still popped in to read the forums.

Didn't realise if I weren't actively seeking meets I had to delete my account!

The only time hidden profiles annoy me is when someone messages you about a meet...

If i messaged someone about a potential meet, I will show profile....

UNTIL then....it stays hidden

I don't hide my profile if i want some time out, i close all filters, so i can just chat to the ones that i am interested in, and then someone can't cut in and and say "Hey you like nice, what a fuck"
